Heather is a native New Yorker and a graduate of Syracuse University’s Drama Department. While acting in New York City, she was fortunate to be cast in a production featuring Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and hearing actors. Touring with this ensemble introduced her to the Deaf community and American Sign Language—a turning point that shaped her career path.
She graduated from LaGuardia Community College’s Interpreter Training Program in 2008 and has been working as an RID-certified interpreter since 2010. After 20 years in NYC, Heather and her family relocated to Richmond in 2020 in search of new adventures. When she’s not interpreting, she enjoys going to the theatre and soaking up all the arts Richmond has to offer. She also loves the beach, camping, reading, and has a passion for creating the world’s most perfect picnic.
