Bringing the pieces together

Our Mission:

Mosaic provides sign language interpretation and captioning
for Deaf and hearing communities.

We provide consistent, high quality interpreters and captionists
that reflect client preferences and needs.

We sponsor events that promote community and
provide safe spaces for novice interpreters to stretch their wings.

Utilizing current research, and with an aim to increase
diverse representation in our field, we host an internship to
bridge the gap from interpreter education to certification.

A Mosaic interpreter, Jennifer Dau, is glistening as she passionately signs for an evening event. Under a pink spotlight, the emotion of the message is visible in her face.

Generosity

When one of us succeeds, all of us succeed.

We share resources, knowledge, and ideas widely to support our community and profession.

A diverse audience offers handwaves to a Black Deaf storyteller during a community event, she smiles in response.

Collaboration

We believe that access does not happen in a vacuum.

We ensure effective communication by consulting stakeholders before, during, and after an assignment.

Trust

We’ve built our team based on more than skill.

Our team upholds high standards of confidentiality, ethical decision making, and community responsibility. We aim to earn and keep community trust.

A blurry photograph shows a stage performance under numerous colorful spotlights. An audience of hundreds watches. On stage one can see the performers are musicians, two interpreters stand to the left of performers.

Imagination

We believe in creative solutions to problems both large and small.

We challenge existing barriers and envision our way past the status quo.
